"James Ensor style touch" AI painting exhibition
The theme of this AI painting exhibition (April 13, 1860 - November 19, 1949) is the style of Belgian painters from the late 19th century to the early 20th century.
Ensor was born in 1860 in Ostend (Ostend), Belgium, a coastal resort on the North Sea coast[2]. In 1877 he entered the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels, the capital, and returned home in 1880. Except for these three years, he spent most of his long life in Ostend.
Ensor's parents' house in Oostende ran a souvenir shop for tourists, selling shells, handicrafts and carnival masks. It is well known that carnival masks later became an important motif for Ensor as a painter. Ensor's father was of British descent and is said to have been a well-educated man who could speak several languages, but he didn't have a job, and Ensor's mother was the sole manager of the souvenir shop. Ensor, who lived a long life as a bachelor, had no connection with Paris, the center of art at the time, and continued to work in solitude using the attic of his parents' house in Ostend as his atelier.
Among the many painters of the 19th and 20th centuries, Ensor's painting style is unique and unique, and although it is difficult to classify it into a specific school, there are many artists such as Paul Klee and Emile Nolde. He is highly regarded as a pioneer of 20th-century art, having influenced notable painters of the 20th century, as well as Expressionism and Surrealism, which were the major art movements of the 20th century. His Ensor works are also excellent not only in oil paintings but also in prints.
In his early years, he painted interior scenes and still lifes in a unique color scheme that used many primary colors. The motif of masks appears in Ensor's paintings from 1883 onwards, "Masks that Disturb People" (also known as "Disgraceful Masks" in Japanese). It seems to be wearing it (or the mask is turning into a face as it is), and it seems to ridicule those who see the painting. In spite of the splendid colors that make heavy use of red, which makes us feel the influence of the Impressionists, there is a certain odor of death in the painting.
